1 ESO Pre-evaluation

Here, we have a presentation about the topic of 'Tales' this is a review for the vocabulary that is supposed to be acquired in the school. This is a kind of pre-evaluation for the teacher in order to see the general level of the class.

Handout for the class:

After the session, the teacher has to write about what he/she has to teach during the rest of the classes. In other words, if the students need an overall review of everything or just the vocabulary.

Total Physical Response (TPR)

It is a method created by James J. Asher in 1965.

He is a psychologist and made his first experiment with Japanese in 1965 when he taught English.

A metaphor of this method would be: "The instructor is the director of the stage play in which the students are the actors".

He published a book in 1977 called: Learning a Language Through Actions. His method is based upon the assumption that the second language should be learned as the first language.

So, if our parents made some speech, we could follow by a physical response.

With this method, we have to use the right hemisphere of the brain and engage students without any stress for them.

In this prezi, we see a presentation about TPR and some activities for teachers that some of my classmates and I did for a subject.

After using this method, you can reflect in the comment section if this method works or not in your own class.
